High streets across the Vale have had a difficult year. With the Welsh Government lockdown imposing more severe restrictions than elsewhere in the UK and the threat of parking charges from the Vale Council, local retailers have soldiered on, keeping local high streets alive.
Matt Smith says more must be done to protect local retailers.
Matt said: “I want to pay tribute to the small businesses across the Vale that form the backbones of our towns.
“I want our high streets to not just survive, but to thrive.
“That’s why I’m campaigning for small business rate relief to be boosted - so that our small businesses in Barry and the Vale get as much support here as they would in England”.
