Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Andrew RT Davies MS, has expressed his shock that ahead of the Welsh Government imposed Wales-wide lockdown taking place tomorrow, that the Welsh Government has failed to produce key data which they have used to justify the lockdown.
Each week the Welsh NHS publishes NHS Activity and Capacity information – crucially this normally includes Intensive Care Unit capacity - during the Covid-19 pandemic however, this week this data is not being released.
Andrew RT Davies MS commented:
“It’s shocking that the Welsh Government are disproportionately putting the whole of Wales into lockdown based on the need to reduce capacity in intensive care within the Welsh NHS.
“Why then have they chosen not to publish this crucial data this week. Once again, the Welsh Government is failing to be open and transparent, when they should be publishing this data so that they can be properly scrutinised on the monumental actions they are taking.”
